OLDHAM ATHLETIC 0 MIDDLETON ATHLETIC 9
Before we get down to the match i would like to thank all the players for turning out today each and everyone of you played out of your skins and turned in a top class performance well done
With players missing due to work and some players forgetting how to answer a phone middleton were down to a bare eleven but this would not stop this team from turning in a top class performance from the start middleton played some excellent football and looked to take the game to oldham the break came when scouse found shevy who hit home 0/1 from oldhams kick off natalie stole the ball and slipped in shevy for her second 0/2 oldham tried to get back in the game with some nice work but only found a determined middleton in front of them the third came when shevy turned provider for jackie who hit home 0/3 with half time looming jackie turned provider for shevy to hit her hat trick 0/4 half time
middleton knew that oldham would come out strong and from the start closed them down with scouse running midfield she found space and set shevy free for her fourth and middletons 5th 0/5 with some changes to the positions of the team and channy playing midfield and some great passing with shevy she scored a rare goal 0/6 by this time oldham had run out of ideas and scouse wearing her new boots was looking to find the net after some great moves channy found scouse who hit home 0/7 the game was becoming more open and with space opening up scouce went on a solo run from her own half and found the back of the net with her second and middletons 8th with time running out and middleton still pushing forward oldham fouled channy 15yrd out and the ref rewarded a free kick and with one of her trade mark hits shevy hit the roof of the net 0/9
once again ladies great game you all played out of your skins.

County Cup
AFC OLDHAM 1 MIDDLETON ATHLETIC 6
A break from league football as middleton took on oldham in the county cup and with a home tie against man city ladies in the next round at stake both teams had a lot to play for from kick off middleton were caught cold when oldham broke free and scored this was a shock to the system but middleton rallied and were soon level when sam booth found hannah who hit home with both teams playing attacking football middleton took control when i fine chip from scouse found vics head and she could not miss the third came when hannah found space and picked out shevy who fired home 1/3 h/t
the second half oldham put middleton under pressure but failed to beet an inform keeper
the tension was eased when a great run from right back by channy found chelsea who made the game safe oldham had no answer to middleton and after a rash tackle middleton got a free kick 15yrds out and shevy found the top corner 1/5 and to put a top on the day vic z found chelsea who hit her second and middletons 6th well done ladies you can now look forward to a home tie against man city ladies next year.......

MIDDLETON ATHLETIC 5 AFC OLDHAM 1
We all knew this game would be hard and we were not wrong from the start oldham set out to try and intimidate middleton with some hard tackles but its nothing we haven’t seen before middleton playing there free flowing football soon took the lead when chelsea found sam the boot booth who hit home to give middleton a well deserved lead both teams played attacking football but oldham failed to take there chances and were punished when vic spotted sam free and sent over a wonderful ball for sam to hit number two H/T 2/0
the managers made middleton aware that oldham would come out all guns blazing in the second half and after a disputed free kick oldham pulled one back this only served to make middleton step up the pressure and this time sam turned provider and chelsea slotted home this goal took some pressure of middleton and they attacked at every chance and sam { the boot } hit her third and Middleton’s 4th not to be out done chelsea played a wonderful one two with hannah and hit the net with Middleton’s 5th with so many players away the team played some good football the only down side to the game came from mindless individuals in the stand shouting for them to break there legs these people should not be involved with football.

URMSTON 1 MIDDLETON ATHLETIC 5
This was an eagerly awaited top of the table clash Urmston undefeated. Middleton one loss and what unfolded was a classic game of football. From kick off both teams went on the attack with both defenses on top Middleton got the break when shevy went past two players and sent over a ball which Sam Booth slotted home with ease this goal seemed to give Middleton a boost and they pushed forward at every chance the second came when the ball was cleared from defence to Shevy who found Scouse who hit home 0/2 H/T
The second half was just like the first Urmston trying to get back in the game and Middleton going forward Urmston pulled one back to set up a grand stand finish, but Middleton stayed calm and kept pushing forward the 3rd came when Scouse broke free and found Chelsea who hit home this set urmston back and they seemed beaten. With middleton going forward at will the 4th came when jordan slipped her marker and sent in a top cross for Chelsea to score her second and middleton 4th the 5th goal was like ping pong Shevy sent over the ball and it bounced about the goal mouth being hit by middleton and urmston unable to clear the ball it found its way into the net via Hannah's face well they all count 1/5. Great game ladies and well done to all the players who played in new positions

ASHTON UTD 0 MIDDLETON ATHLETIC 7
As we know from past games this would be Middleton’s hardest fixture so far this season
from the start both teams played some exiting football. The break came when Sam B latched on to a fine pass from Chelsea this settled any nerves. Middleton’s second came after a back pass was cut out by Sam B who hit her second. Ashton tried hard to stay in the game and made some good moves but Middleton’s defence stood firm. The third came after a good break by Hannah found Scouse and she slotted home. Ashton pushing for a reply Chelsea once again found Sam B who hit her third H/T 0 / 4
Middleton knew Ashton would not lie down so they had to be on there guard from the off with the game becoming stretched Middleton took advantage of the space and Chelsea took advantage to grab herself three goals as well to make the final score 0 /7

Middleton Athletic FC 7 Heyside 1
This was the second time in as many weeks. These two teams had met today was down to cup action and middleton wasted no time in hitting the net when Shevy hit home from a pass from Jordan. With some good work Gemma found space and slipped in Shevy for her second with Scouse back in midfield and pulling the strings she found Jordan who hit home with halftime approaching and not to be out done Natalie picked up the ball in her own half went past three defenders and slotted home H/T 4 / 0
Buzzing from her goal Natalie found room and was found by a peach of a ball by Scouse to hit her second. Heyside were looking lost with all there attempts coming up short as Middleton held firm with heyside pushing forward Scouse was given a free kick and slammed home with the game won Middleton’s defence went to sleep. and Heyside took there chance to find the net this woke up Middleton and they took control of the game again with Jordan running riot on the wing she set up Shevy for her second hat-trick in two weeks final score
7 / 1.

MIDDLETON ATHLETIC 14 HEYSIDE 0
Well its back to the league fixtures after last weeks heroics in the FA Cup. With the team still smarting after the loss this was the perfect game to get back on track. Heyside were a new young team to the league which resembled Middleton of a few years ago from kick off Heyside tried to take the game to Middleton. After a short period of pressure Middleton got to grips with the game and the goals started to come.
Both teams tried hard to play football in a positive way in terrible conditions but by half time Middleton had managed to put seven past Heyside, credit to Heyside they kept going but lacked the experience to combat a rampaging Middleton seven more goals were scored in the second half to make the final score 14 / 0. Well done to all the girls on the pitch who kept going in all the rain and thanks to all the people who stayed on in the rain to support both teams,
to many goals for a run down but well done all goal scorers.
Girl of the match Shevaughn.

Morecambe ladies 4 Middleton athletic 2
This years run in the FA Cup ended in round one, but it was not for the want of trying up against premier league opposition. It was always going to be hard in true fashion Middleton gave 100% with some excellent team play and individual brilliance. But things just would not go for us if Middleton continue to play as they did on sunday the rest of the season looks good.
I know everyone gave everything but one person needs a special mention Sam Chesters who made save after save to keep Middleton in the game but her highlight was saving the penalty from the biggest player on the pitch.
As managers we asked you gave and we came away proud of Middleton Athletic
Many thanks to the people who came to watch our team
and natalie for the mini bus.

Atherton ladies 8 Middleton athletic ladies 1
Don’t let this score fool anybody this game was a monumental effort by a Middleton side. only playing with 10 players to keep the flag flying. From kick off Middleton knew it would be an up hill task but they tried everything they knew and tried to play. As they always do on the attack Atherton took advantage with the extra players and scored a couple of goals early this did not stop Middleton playing. They got just rewards when pressure on Atherton defence paid off and Middleton were awarded a penalty which chelsea put away with ease. Atherton replied with two more goals to make it 4 / 1 h/t.
The chat at h/t was easy Middleton were still up for the game and took to the field determined to give it a go after ten mins Middleton were dealt a further blow when the goalie got injured making a great save. With no subs chelsea stepped up and went in net this put Middleton down to nine, but with sheer grit and determination they managed to keep Atherton at bay until the last ten mins when middleton players had nothing left in the tank.
Atherton hit four more what else can I say each and every player worked so hard it was a hard ask but nobody let themselves down the new players fitted in well and you all played together as a team this match will stand you all in good stead for the rest of the season.
Player of the match Chelsea Cook.
